2010-May-25: Aucxis supplies RFID dockshelter automation system to supermarket chain Hoogvliet

Aucxis equipped 24 dock shelters at Hoogvliet's distribution centre with its new RFID concept for automatic truck detection.  A Low Frequency (LF) tag reports the truck at its arrival at the dock shelter.  The software processes the truck's data and transmits the necessary information to the different display panels, one at each dock.

Identification of the trucks and display of all relevant information to the dispatcher take place  automatically and allow immediate loading. Consequently, waiting times are reduced to a minimum, the risk of incorrect loading and unloading is virtually impossible and the energy management of the climate controlled rooms is considerably improved.

2010-May-17: Aucxis launches new "hybrid clock wall" concept

One of Europe's  leading vegetable auctions modernized its auction room in an original way. While a classic gallery consists of rows,  Mechelse Veilingen from Sint-Katelijne-Waver (Belgium) opted for the concept of  a ‘cone-shaped auction room'.  180 buyers can take place in the innovative and ergonomically designed gallery which offers extensive facilities.  Aucxis equipped each buyer place with the  latest bank electronics based on digital audio technology, and built in a small computer with touch screen (panel PC) to consult market information and personal data.  In addition to this, 25 buyers have a combiphone at their disposal, a practical device that enables them to have simultaneous telephone conversations.

Aucxis introduced a brand-new concept for the 6 clocks auction wall:  the hybrid clock. Each clock circle is composed of LED points, while all supply and sales information is projected on the clock wall by high-quality beamers.  At the buyers' request, the traditional LED points were retained, as in their opinion these offer the most accurate method to stop the clock at the desired price.  Because of the perfect tuning of the contrast between LED points and projection, the combination of both technologies produces a fine display and calming effect.

Upgrade Belgian fruit & vegetable sales network

Above-mentioned project smoothly links to the modernization of the Belgian simultaneous fruit and vegetables sales network: the software, communication protocols and infrastructure will be renewed to include the latest internet technology.  Aucxis will roll out the new software this year at all Belgian fruit and vegetable auctions. These are linked to each other in a unique sales network, which enables buyers to buy products at all auctions connected,  from a single location (auction room, office, home).

HOT NEWS - In May 2010, Aucxis also won the contract to modernise the network's remote buying system (400 buyers, non-Aucxis system By the end of 2010, the Belgian simultaneous fruit and vegetables sales network and all auctions that make part of it, will  fully run on Aucxis technology.

2010-Apr-30: Aucxis bids farewell to Bryan Renn

It was with mixed emotions that we celebrated, on April 26th, the retirement of Bryan Renn, who had been our UK and Ireland representative for nearly 20 years.

His professionalism in explaining the benefits of electronic auctions and back office systems was rewarded by a good number of successful contracts from fish,  livestock, wool, coffee and dairy markets.  We believe that Bryan's enthusiasm has also sown the seeds for future business,  immediate proof of which is recent orders from long standing customers Shetland Seafood Auctions and Plymouth Trawler Agents.

We wish Bryan and his wife Wendy all the best and hope that they will spend many more years of happiness together!

Bryan's successor is Jean-Jacques De Rey, Senior Account Manager and Business Consultant.

2010-Apr-27: Aucxis exclusive dealer of the Dixell XR35CX series

In response to the recurring question of customers to provide them with a good PT1000 safety thermostat that can be read out on a PC,  Aucxis chose to support the Dixell XR35CX controller in its Unicool V2 PC package after having executed extensive research and tests. This option enables users to combine an independently working safety thermostat with the S900 controller and to operate and manage both safety thermostat and  S900 controller through the same software programme. Functions like temperature set up and registration, alarm processing and calibration of the Dixell safety thermostat are included in the software, which results in a much simpler and efficient procedure.

2010-Apr-26: Plymouth fish market orders upgrade

By implementing the latest internet technology, Aucxis will completely modernize the auction system of this English fish market.  Each buyer will be able to buy through a laptop in the auction room, while the clock and sales information are projected.  Aucxis will also supply 3 portable  and 2 mobile input stations, which are linked to digital balances.  Finally, the existing administrative software will be replaced by the successful A-Fish package, which was tuned to  DEFRA requirements for the UK.

2010-Apr-12: Boulogne fish market continues its automation process

After implementing an electronic auction room in 2008, this year Aucxis will deliver 11 multifunctional and interactive registration stations to this important French fish auction.  They will be used on the quay to print various documents ( e.g. delivery  notes).  These ‘ruggedized' devices, specifically designed in a stainless steel housing to function in a maritime and humid environment, are operated through a touch screen.

2010-Mar-15: Aucxis  replaces the control system of 27 ULO cells at Veiling Borgloon

The S510 measuring and control system, which served well during the past 20 years, will be replaced by the S930 system, launched in 2008. Furthermore, the existing safety thermostats will be replaced by thermostats of the Dixell XR35CX series.  In this way, Veiling Borgloon creates the possibility to read out the safety thermostats through the Aucxis Unicool V2 package and to adjust the settings from a PC.  To date, this had to be executed on the safety thermostat itself.  This considerable surplus value played an important part in Veiling Borgloon's decision process to award the contract.

2010-Mar-01: Aberdeen Northern Markets (Scotland) orders upgrade 4.0. of the integrated LiSa back office package

In 2008, Aucxis implemented LiSa - our all-embracing back office software package - at ANM. It registers and processes all supply data and sales transactions, including administrative and invoicing modules, in a fast and efficient way.

Early 2010, ANM ordered the newest LiSa version 4.0. It contains a number of adaptations regarding the new UK regulation on traceability and a brand-new module that was especially designed for the sheep sale. It is linked to RFID readers to scan the sheeps' ear tags.

Another important extension is the link to the weighbridges: after weighing the animals at the entrance of the sales ring, their weight is displayed automatically  during the sale.

Aberdeen and Northern Markets is the largest farmer-owned livestock auction company in Europe. Their annual sales exceed £80 million and they handle more than 100,000 store, prime and breeding cattle. Also, more than 500,000 store, prime and breeding sheep are handled at two purpose-built auction centres in the North and North-east of Scotland.

2010-Feb-18: Aucxis extends its Low Frequency (LF) RFID network at FloraHolland for the market's "uniform trolley" project

FloraHolland has recently started to convert 240.000 flower trolleys with the objective to obtain a uniform trolley for all its branches.  The trolley is the most important logistic carrier for plants and flowers in the ornamental plants sector and is used by suppliers, buyers and hauliers.  Each week about 1.750 trolleys will be converted in order to allow the project to be completed by the end of 2012.  For the semi automated conversion lines, Aucxis extended its existing LF RFID networks in the Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk branches to enable identification of the trolleys to be converted.  Bar codes and RFID labels are automatically scanned after which work orders for the workers are printed.
